CACTUS       RV PARK

In Tucumcari, New Mexico on Historic Route 66 less than 2 Miles from Exit 332 and Exit 333 off Interstate 40

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is an OVERNIGHT PARK with 50 AMP, working WIFI and CABLE TV, and easy PULL-THROUGH spaces.  This is NOT an unclean and unsecure environment made up of a hodgepodge of tent sites, old permanent mobilehomes, monthly rentals, or unoccupied storage units to act as decoys.  You'll notice there is not a single mobilehome on our property.  We do not have vanity flags posted around our property either.  We invite you to inspect and guarantee our services. Since we are 2 Miles from the Main Interstate, there is Little Highway Noise. We are less than 2 miles from FLYING J GAS, Mountain Road RV Park, Love's Gas, and 1.5 miles from Denny's Restaurant. Regardless of your club affiliations, look at our website pictures to know what you should be looking for.  As all government, the Chamber of Commerce seems to be corrupted by self-interested individuals that divert customers to their business.  If you are looking for the Cactus RV Park, do not be hijacked from the highway by people in golf carts, pickups, and God knows what else.  Remember to tell your partner also.  The buildings at the Cactus RV Park are historic from the heydays of Route 66, but not useable any longer and have been left as is for the historic-minded.  They will not be torn down to put something else for the kind of people to whom sense of history can be lost to artificial renovations.  We intend to leave them there as is until we are forced to remove them, whence history will be lost forever.  People that write reviews need to reevaluate their thinking and quit harping about old buildings.  We are the historic RV Park next to Del's Restaurant and the Travelodge.

In a Nutshell

We are East of Downtown on the 1300 BLK EAST of Historic Route 66 (AKA Tucumcari Blvd or Business 40).

Since we are 2 Miles from the Main Interstate, there is Little Highway Noise.  We are less than 2 miles from FLYING J GAS, Mountain Road RV Park, Love's Gas, and 1.5 miles from Denny's Restaurant.  Please note that if you are coming from the East and need diesel, the Flying J Gas in Amarillo (Exit 76 off I-40) is often several cents cheaper than local stations.

We are mostly an overnight RV park.  Stay with your kind of people, the overnight traveler.

3 Restaurants (American, Mexican, and Chinese) within 3 Blocks.

Inspect, Compare, and Price to Other Parks.  Please note that reviews of parks can be bought or solicited.  Also be sure to check out the dates reviews of parks were placed on to get a proper mental perspective.

We have adequate 50 amp that will run your RV's needs, so we discourage people from using downsizing pigtail adapters.  We always keep our WiFi and Cable TV in peak operating condition.

Closest RV Park to Downtown, Museums, Post Office, Banks, Grocery Stores, and NO Schools or Railroads in the Vicinity! (also see "Useful Links" at the bottom of this page)

It may hurt you not to compare price, quality, and cleanliness.  Don't be pressure-sold a space without inspecting us.

This park is not for sale.  You will never park between or around large, permanent mobilehomes or longterm local RVers with large propane tanks and hanging clothes.  Any website that says we are a mobilehome park is obsolete.  Our RV park is not located in a mobilehome subdivision, so if you see mobilehomes you are not at the Cactus RV Park!  We do not accept pitch tents either.  We are mostly an adult park.

We give you a clean, quiet, secure place to park overnight.  We guarantee there are no free-roaming or loud dogs, or livestock on the entire 1300 Block of our RV Park, to encompass 6 acres of property.  If there are any free-roaming dogs, they are from a dog-infested park two blocks away.

A Few Park Annoyances:

Water leaks - When was the last time you replaced the washer in your water hose?

High voltage surges - They are not the fault of park operators as many of you may think, but instead come from further up the line.

Cable TV - You do need to program your TVs for Cable to obtain reception.

Polarity - Many of you check park polarity before plugging in, but do you check the polarity of your appliances before plugging them in within the RV?

Sewer leaks - For a few dollars you can purchase proper sewer connections so the space remains clean for the next RV.

Outside lights - We run a secure park.  Please turn off your outside lights so your neighbors are not bothered.

Dogs - All customers are required to pick up after their dogs.  Please do not walk your dogs in other RV spaces, but instead walk them in the designated walking areas.

Vehicles - Please do not park your unhooked vehicles in other spaces, as they prevent other RVs from parking.

RV washing - We do not permit RV or car washing, as it ruins the space for the next RV.  Windshield washing with a bucket is allowed.

Discounts - Some people are carrying old directories and then arguing about price structure.  Please keep your books up-to-date.

RV Appearance - We reserve the right to refuse a site to certain antiquated or ill-kept RVs.

RV Work - We do not like people working on their RVs (i.e. engine work), as they usually leave a mess behind afterwards.

Please communicate the instructions given at the office to your spouse or other members of your party.
